Overview
The RN Educator coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of education for the Unit. Will provide bedside education to the unit nursing staff, ensuring competency through both monthly skill validation and frequent monitoring of all staff. Will serve as the education and quality resource for all nursing practice issues and as the orientation resource for all new employees in the unit. Will oversee policy, procedure and standard development and revision through evidence based practice changes. Additionally, will perform routine audits to ensure education needs are being addressed for staff.
Must have prior RN Inpatient experience >2yrs Qualifications
Certifications: Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) within 1 year - American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN); Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) within 1 year - Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Work Experience:
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate unit educational presentations/activities, as well as patient education class on joint replacement.Provide opportunities for less experienced staff to grow and develop their unit specific skills.Utilize information technology to obtain evidence-based practices and the latest research to provide current best practice information to care providers on the unit. Ensure that the unit policy/procedure/standards reflect EBP and are practiced consistently.Develop, maintain, and monitor staff competencies and keeps records for annual review. Provide ROC to non-compliant staff and report to manager promptly.Perform unusual occurrence investigation and follow up (Stars System).

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $42.81per hour - $69.67per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
